Resorts World Sentosa casino was built on Sentosa Island by the Malaysian Genting group. The Marina Bay Sands Casino, close to the Singapore business district is part of the US giant Las Vegas Sands.

Luxury tourism

The city of Singapore has invested in cable cars decorated with Swarovski crystals to ensure transport in style and luxury to the island of Sentosa.

With Swarovski crystals decorating the floor and roof panels, as well as a black leather interior and armrests adorned with crystals, the cable cars are expected to impress high-end tourists visiting Singapore. The cable cars will link the most popular tourist destinations, such as mount Faber and Sentosa Island and providing breathtaking views! The voyage lasts about 13 minutes at a price of between $24 and $26 per ticket.

More than 12 million tourists expected in 2011

The Minister of Trade, Industry and Education, Mr. S. Iswaran said, "We are on track to achieve the forecast of 11.5 to 12.5 million tourists this year, a record for Singapore!" The development of the luxury market supports this trend.

More than 25 million tourists have so far used the cable cars as a mode of transport to the island of Sentosa. These cabins are already regarded as an emblematic tourist attraction.
